The Cargo Shed on Dive Crescent is about to enter a new creative phase that will be a vital exciting step-up from its current focus and operation.
The Cargo Shed will briefly close on the 20th June and re-open under a new operational style in early August 2009.
In future the Cargo Shed will be managed, on a day by day basis, by Creative Tauranga. However, the Cargo Shed Arts Charitable Trust will retain overall responsibility for the Cargo Shed.
The Cargo Shed is a key part of the cultural heart of downtown Tauranga, with arts and culture forming a vital point of difference for the City Centre.
The Cargo Shed, together with Artsville at Elizabeth Street, Baycourt, Creative Tauranga and the Tauranga Art Gallery (Toi Tauranga) form a critical network of public venues that will ensure that the voice and creativity of the arts in Tauranga Moana the region and nationally are at the heart of City Centre vitality.
